Puna Geothermal Venture (PGV) is investigating the possibility of developing the geothermal prospect located in the Puna District on the Island of Hawaii. A preliminary plant concept for a base loaded, two-unit 25 MWe geothermal power plant and associated steam supply, H/sub 2/S abatement, and electric transmission facilities has been developed. The preliminary plant concept incorporates innovative design features necessary to respond to several sitespecific design criteria. These criteria include seismic and volcanic risk criteria, plant design life, well turndown requirements, and H/sub 2/S abatement requirements.
