Effect of quasiparticle damping on the ''gap'' of a superconductor at the topological electron transition

The effect of scattering processes on the singularities of the order parameter ..delta..(p,..omega..) of a superconductor in the case when, under the action of external influences, the Fermi surface epsilon-c(p) = epsilon-c/sub F/ changes its topology at the critical energy epsilon-c/sub cr/ is investigated. It is shown that, for epsilon-c/sub F/: epsilon-c/sub cr/< or approx. =..delta.., the effect of the scattering processes on the root singularities of ..delta..(p,..omega..) is effectively ((epsilon-c/sub F/: epsilon-c/sub cr/)/ms/sup 2/)/sup 1/2/ times weaker (m is the electron mass and s is the velocity of sound). The ..delta..(p,..omega..) singularities that can be observed experimentally manifest themselves in the Fermi-surface-averaged quantity ..delta..(..omega..).
