Intensifying the killing and drying process for silk cocoons with the aid of solar energy

An experimental solar drying unit for cocoons of the mulberry silkworm is described. Its operation in the village of Oktyabr'sk, Chardzhouskii District, Turkmen USSR yielded positive results, with better raw-material quality that with chemical killing. It was possible to save energy and shorten the drying process.
