Technical assessment of environmental-control technologies for the proposed H-Coal commercial plant. [Proposed plant in Breckinridge, KY]

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5805618
This report presents the results of a technical assessment of the adequacy of selected environmental control technologies for the proposed commercial H-Coal liquefaction plant in Breckinridge County, Kentucky. The expected performance of these technologies for control of liquid, gaseous, and solid effluents was evaluated by using characteristics of the waste streams from Illinois No. 6 (Burning Star) coal generated at the 200-tons-per-day pilot plant at Catlettsburg. The study concludes that the selected environmental-control technologies will permit the proposed commercial plant to convert coal to distillate oil and naphtha while operating within applicable site-specific environmental requirements.
