Each year Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) sponsor a workshop in low-level radioactive waste management. The intent of the workshop is to give radwaste professionals an opportunity to exchange ongoing research and practical operational experiences. To meet this goal, EPRI and ASME arranged for speakers to deliver formal papers on the following timely issues: wet waste, contaminated materials, waste management strategies, regulatory issues, and disposal. During the Workshop, participants heard 14 papers delivered by radwaste professionals from utilities throughout the country. Of particular interest to all attending were the small discussion groups which followed each formal session. During these small groups, participants offered site-specific reactions to the issues raised by the speakers and explored how such information might be meaningful to their particular utility. Individual papers have been cataloged separately.
