Innovative technologies promise to clean up Superfund sites quickly and at far less cost than the standard methods as incineration and groundwater pump-and-treat. But with the already high cost of Superfund cleanups, few responsible parties are willing to risk [open quotes]double jeopardy[close quotes] with an unproven technology that could require a repeat treatment.
