The possibility of resolving structure latent inside the line contour and determining the characteristics of this structure by numerical differentiation of the experimental contour using a computer is demonstrated, for the example of a Doppler-broadened contour measured using a scanning Fabry-Perot interferometer. The neon emission line with a wavelength of 611.8 nm is chosen as the object of investigation. A natural mixture of neon isotopes is used, with the following isotopic ratio: 90.22% /sup 20/Ne, 0.26% /sup 21/Ne, 8.82% /sup 22/Ne. This shows that the presence of /sup 21/Ne may be neglected.
