Crystalline porous silicate composite and its use in catalytic cracking

Patent ·
OSTI ID:5796192
This patent describes a method for catalytically cracking gas oil, residual oil, and admixtures thereof in a cracking unit to a product. It comprises increased C{sub 3} and C{sub 4} olefins and gasoline of an increased octane number, wherein the method comprises in combination subjecting the gas oil to catalytic cracking conditions, in the presence of a cracking catalyst inventory comprising an inorganic oxide matrix bound porous crystalline silicate having a Constraint Index of between about 1 and about 12 and a catalytically active cracking catalyst selected from the group consisting of amorphous silica- alumina, crystalline silica-alumina and large port crystalline zeolites, wherein the inorganic oxide matrix bound porous crystalline silicate is produced by preparing the silicate from a reaction mixture which comprises a source of silicon and water, thereafter adding to the reaction mixture which contains unincorporated silica and a crystalline silicate, an inorganic oxide matrix and water and spray drying the resulting mixture to produce an inorganic oxide matrix bound porous crystalline silicate whereby the unincorporated silica is incorporated in the matrix; and subjecting the inorganic oxide matrix bound porous crystalline silicate to steam; producing gasoline of the octane number and C{sub 3} and C{sub 4} olefins; recovering the C{sub 3} and C{sub 4} olefins; and passing the steamed silicate to the cracking unit.
