This patent describes a method of geophysical exploration. It comprises imparting seismic energy into the earth at a first location in a seismic survey with a seismic source having a first line of action; and imparting seismic energy into the earth at a second location in the seismic survey along the seismic survey with a seismic source having a second line of action and recording at least two linerally independent components of the seismic energy imparted into the earth along each line of action at selected receiver locations in the seismic survey after it has interacted with the earth.
