This standard provides the methods of qualifying class 1E static battery chargers and inverters in accordance with IEEE Std 323-1974, Standard for Qualifying Class 1E Equipment for Nuclear Power Generating Stations, to which this document is a supplement. The static chargers and inverters discussed in this standard are safety related, however, this document addresses this equipment only as a subsystem in the safety related electrical system.
