- Deutsche Babcock AG, Oberhausen (Germany, F.R.)
This paper outlines the concept of Quality Assurance System as standardized in the series of International Standards ISO 9000 to ISO 9004. The various elements contained in the many and different approaches by the individual nations towards Quality System are included in these standards. They have been conceived to be adopted by the member countries of the International Standards Organization. National and individual systems aimed mainly to be applied to nuclear related activities have been generalized, so that these IS0 9000 series can be applied to all industrial fields. The ISO 9000 series of standards five guidelines regarding the requirement son Policy, Management, System, Control and Assurance to achieve and sustain the quality level required. Supplementing these system related standards further European or national rules and regulations applicable to specific product fields exist and should be taken into account.
