Title: Spontaneous fission of the heavy isotopes of nielsbohrium (Z=105) and element 106

Heavy isotopes of nielsbohrium - /sup 262/Ns - and element 106 - /sup 263/106 - which undergo spontaneous fission with a high probability (respectively approx.60 and approx.70%) have been obtained in the nuclear reactions /sup 249/Bk(/sup 18/O,5n) and /sup 249/Cf(/sup 18/O,4n). These results in combination with existing data on other isotopes of elements 105 and 106 indicate that for isotopes of elements heavier than kurchatovium (Z=104) a regularity analogous to that established for the isotopes of kurchatovium exists in the dependence of the spontaneous-fission half-life on the number of neutrons.
