An industrially produced glassy carbon crucible has been used for the potentiostatic coulometric determination of iridium as an electrochemical cell, a working electrode, and a vessel for weighing an aliquot portion of the solution. A method for the coulometric determination of 1-7 mg of iridium in a 0.5 M HCl supporting electrolyte solution has been developed. The value of s/sur r/ is 0.002 to 0.008. The results of the determination of iridium in solutions of industrial wastes are characterized by values of s/sub r/ ranging from 0.002 to 0.006.
