Production of hadrons with large transverse momenta on nuclei in QCD

The A-dependence of the cross sections for production of jets of hadrons with large p/sub t/ on nuclei is studied in QCD perturbation theory. It is shown that the effective cross section for absorption of a quark with large p/sub t/ during its passage through the nucleus is sigma /sup q/N/sub eff/proportional1/p/sup 2//sub t/.
