Telescopic-crossed prism resonator (TCPR)

A new type of resonator: the telescopic-crossed prism resonator (TCPR): is proposed and experimentally investigated on a repetitive YAG laser. Theoretical analysis and experimental results have shown that this resonator has a high mechanical stability and excellent transverse mode selectivity even if a YAG rod having merely fair optical quality is used. By using this resonator, it is found easy to obtain a beam with an output power of 10 MW and a divergence angle of less than 1 mrad.
