A building for cold districts is described. The building has a semi-basement and a roof including a room heater unit provided within the semi-basement. Heat insulation materials are provided on the outer side walls and bottom of the building and also a bottom portion of a narrow space under the roof of the building for heat insulating the interior of the building from external atmosphere. Passage members are provided under a floor of each room of the building and communicate with the semi-basement such that warm air produced from the room heater unit is supplied through each of the passage members and to each room through the floor thereof. A solar heat absorption system is provided on a sunny side outer wall of the building. The warm air supplied to each of the rooms and/or air within each room is introduced into the solar heat adsorption system, heated therein by use of solar heat and returned to each of the rooms for heating the rooms.
