The superplastic properties of a nickel silicide based intermetallic alloy will be reviewed. The evolution of the microstructure during superplasticity is included. The relationship of the flow stress to strain and to the strain-rate will be discussed, as well as subsequent activation energy calculations. The strain-rate, and strain is included. The strain-rate sensitivity values are compared to those of other superplastic intermetallic alloys. Finally, deformation mechanisms for superplasticity in Ni{sub 3}Si will be proposed. 13 refs., 8 figs., 1 tab.
