Advanced Research and Technology Development Fossil Energy Materials Program: Semiannual progress report for the period ending March 31, 1989

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5778704

The objective of the Advanced Research and Technology Development (AR TD) Fossil Energy Materials Program is to conduct research and development on materials for fossil energy applications with a focus on the longer-term and generic needs of the various fossil fuel technologies. The Program includes research aimed toward a better understanding of materials behavior in fossil energy environments and the development of new materials capable of substantial enhancement of plant operations and reliability. This combined semiannual progress report of activities on the program is in accordance with a work breakdown structure in which projects are organized according to materials research areas. These areas are (1) Ceramics, (2) Alloy Development and Mechanical Properties, (3) Corrosion and Erosion Research, and (4) Assessments and Technology Transfer. Individual projects are processed separately for the data bases.
