Meeting LAER NO/sub x/ requirements for an industrial combined-cycle turbine cogeneration system at a paper mill

OSTI ID:5775764

Crown Zellerbach's Antioch Recycle Paper Mill has installed and operated a 32 mw supplementary fired cogeneration system based on a G.E. MS6001 gas turbine. The system uses steam injection at steam to fuel ratio of about 0.90 to achieve an NO/sub x/ emission limit from the gas turbine of 42 PPM/sub V/. The steam injection works very well except at load conditions approaching 12 mw. Modifications to allow steam injection to the design level of 8 mw will involve substantial hardware and software changes. NO/sub x/ produced in the gas turbine is reduced after passing through the duct burners and HRSG.
