Mass transfer and electrochemical kinetic interactions in localized pitting corrosion

Simulated pitting corrosion of stainless steel under potentiostatic and galvanostatic conditions is interpreted in terms of a one-dimensional, transient diffusion model to decouple the mass transfer and electrochemical kinetic effects. The effects of concentration and viscosity on the diffusivity and the effects of electromigration are included in the analysis.
