Comparison of local and nonlocal theories of the collisional drift instability

Two nonlocal cylindrical models of the collisional drift instability of a weakly ionized plasma are solved numerically and compared with the local slab model. It is shown that the local slab is inadequate in describing how mode stability varies with azimuthal mode number.
