This report is a history of events involving radiological health activities of the U.S. Public Health Service from 1946 to 1969. It is organized chronologically and by activity. Records from the author's files, the Bureau library, Congressional records, and records of the Joint Committee on Atomic Energy were all used in compiling the history. It includes information on exposure from weapons testing and nuclear accidents. Further it attempts to illustrate how the public health protection methods used by the Bureau of Radiological Health in the 1970's were effective in getting the radiation protection job accomplished.
