Structure of aluminum nitride ceramic

The authors study the effect of activating dopants on the formation of the structure of ceramic. The starting powder consisted of aluminum nitride prepared by the carbothermal method. The composition and structure of the ceramic were studied petrographically and also by x-ray diffraction methods. The dopant and its content, the dimensions of the conglomerates and separate crystallites and their number in the conglomerate, the dimensions of the regions of coherent scattering determined according to different planes, and the unit-cell parameters of A1N are presented.
