The document describes how to manage datasets and programs at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) using the Scientific Computing Division's (SCD's) Mass Storage Subsystem (MSS). It provides the information needed to make effective use of the CRAY computers, the AMPEX Terabit Memory System, the IBM 4341 computing system, and the various physical storage devices (e.g. 1/2-inch tape, disks, etc.) which comprise the MSS.
