A brief summary is given of the principal insuperable difficulties of the general theory of relativity that lead to its abandonment. The relativistic theory of gravitation and its principles are briefly presented. The relativistic theory of gravitation is free of the difficulties of Einstein's theory and explains all the gravitational observational and experimental data, giving also new predictions about the evolution of the universe and gravitational collapse. The relativistic theory of gravitation is a further development of the ideas of Poincare, Minkowski, Einstein, and Hilbert.
