We discuss the effect of an extra neutral boson {ital Z}{prime} on atomic parity violation. Using the limit on {Delta}{rho} from the Collider Detector at Fermilab and CERN LEP experiments and limits on {Delta}{ital Q}{sub {ital W}} from the experiment of Noecker, Masterson, and Wieman on atomic parity violation, we obtain limits on the mixing angle of {ital Z}{prime} with the canonical {ital Z} and the mass of {ital Z}{prime}. Eleven models with an extra {ital Z}{prime} have been analyzed. The limits obtained are comparable to the corresponding limits extracted from the {ital Z}-decay experiments at LEP.
