Heat-kernel and negative-power-kernel regularization prescriptions in the computation of anomalies

We discuss in some detail the differences between Fujikawa's regularization (essentially the heat-kernel method) and the negative-power regularization prescription in the calculation of anomalies. As explicit examples we compare both prescriptions in the chiral anomaly as well as in the trace anomaly.
