Synthesis, spectra, and structure of af-dibromo-b-ethoxo-d-oxo-ce-bis(4-nitropyridine)technetium(V) and related complexes

The synthesis, molecular structure, and spectroscopic characterization of a number of complexes of the type (O-(RO)X/sub 2/L/sub 2/Tc/sup V/) where L = 4-cyanopyridine or 4-nitropyridine, X = Cl or Br, and RO = methoxo or ethoxo are described. The complexes were synthesized by the direct reaction of (n-Bu/sub 4/N)(TcOX/sub 4/) with the appropriate pyridine ligand in the corresponding alcohol as solvent.
