Measurement of the depolarization parameter D in np exchange scattering at 600 MeV

The depolarization parameter D in np exchange scattering has been measured. The measurements were made in an experiment on double scattering with use of an unpolarized neutron beam with average energy 600 MeV and a polarized proton target. For the two scattering angles 130 and 160/sup 0/ c.m.s. the parameter D/sub n/p turned out to be respectively -0.19 +- 0.07 and -0.41 +- 0.17.
