This patent describes a vector processor. It comprises vector registering means, each of the vector register means storing a vector. The vector including a plurality of elements, each of the vector register means including smaller registers, each of the smaller registers storing one or more elements of the vector, the number of the one or more elements in the smaller registers being less than the number of the elements; and element processor means connected, respectively, to the smaller registers of the vector register means.
