How to convert a cold-shoulder from project investors into a hug

Journal Article · · Cogeneration; (United States)
OSTI ID:5745871
Imagination, application of basic rules of project financing, and careful assessment of the risk/reward allocations can help to avoid rejection by potential financiers of cogeneration projects. The author outlines the steps to take and cites three major reasons why cogeneration projects reach a funding impasse: insufficient operating income to cover debt service and investor returns, negative investor perception of project risks, and inability to agree on how to share risks and rewards. Areas of high risk include fluctuations in power payments, security requirements of contracts, and taxes.
