TRW advanced slagging coal combustor utility demonstration
The TRW Advanced Slagging Coal Combustor Demonstration Project consists of retrofitting the Orange and Rockland (O and R) Utility Corporation Lovett Plant Unit No. 3 with four slagging combustors which will allow the current gas/oil fired unit to fire 2.5% sulfur coal. The slagging combustor process will provide NO{sub x} and SO{sub x} emissions that meet NSPS and New York State environmental standards. During this reporting period, SWEC set up and implemented the programs to perform budgeting, cost and scheduling, engineering, design, purchasing and general administration of the project. (CBS)
