Probabilistic dynamic security assessments

This paper presents a comprehensive framework for probabilistic dynamic security assessment. The time to insecurity is used as the measure of system security. The probability distribution of the time to insecurity is obtained from the solution of a linear vector differential equation whose coefficients are expressed in terms of steady-state and dynamic security regions. The procedure for the computation of these regions are indicated. An illustrative example is given.
