Band-theoretical study of magnetism in Sc/sub 2/CuO/sub 4/

Self-consistent, spin-polarized calculations were performed for Sc/sub 2/CuO/sub 4/. Both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic ground states were investigated and found to be unstable. Magnetic form factors were calculated and are discussed in view of experiments on La/sub 2/CuO/sub 4/ and the applicability of band theory.
