Controlling the vertical mode coupling instability with feedback in the advanced light source
- Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Berkeley, California 94720 (United States)
We present the results of experiments to control the mode coupling instability in the vertical direction using a feedback system. Presently, we can raise the instability threshold from {approximately}20mA to 35 mA. The maximum current threshold is reached when the feedback is operated in a resistive mode. {copyright} {ital 1997 American Institute of Physics.}
