Project plan for construction of the liquefied gaseous fuels spill test facility

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5740191

The purpose of the LGF Spill Test Facility Project is to design and construct a safe and reliable 500-m/sup 3/-capacity facility for storing and spill-testing liquefied gaseous fuels (LGFs) at Frenchman Flat, in the Nevada Test Site. The facility will be used to experimentally verify computer models for predicting LGF spill effects. Initially, only liquefied natural gas (LNG) will be tested, but the facility will also be capable of testing LPG, LNH/sub 3/, and LH/sub 2/ with some modifications. The project plan describes the design and construction of the facility, environmental considerations, site selection, cost and schedule, and the organization and management arrangement for carrying out the project. This document will be periodically updated with replacement pages when significant changes are made.
