Ba/sub 2/YCu/sub 3/O/sub 7-chi/(BYCO) was prepared by Spray Decomposition (SPD) method varying conditions and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron micrograph (SEM), and electric conductivity measurements. SPD method gave a remarkable larger grain size of BYCO compared with the conventional grinding method. The major phase of the initial product from SPD was tetragonal and did not show superconductivity. After annealed at 1223 {Kappa}, the major phase became orthorhombic with a = 3.89A, b = 3.83A, and c = 11.66A. T/sub c/(m) and {Delta}T/sub c/(10-90{sup 0}) were 93.4 {kappa} and 1.4 {Kappa}, respectively.
