The superconducting ceramics Bi/sub 1-chi/Pb/sub chi/SrCaCu/sub 2/O/sub y/ (0{le}chi{le}0.5) have been prepared by conventional powder solid state reaction. A zero resistance transition temperature at 105 {Kappa} has been observed in the sample with composition chi = 0.2. The effect of Pb content on the superconductivity of the ceramics has been studied. The results indicate that partial substitution of Pb (chi{le}0.3) for Bi enhances the superconductivity of Bi-oxide.
