The Onsite Fuel Cell Program is a $100-million multi-year effort jointly funded by the Gas Research Institute, United States Department of Energy, and over thirty gas and electric utilities nationwide, including two Japanese gas utilities. A portion of this program involves developing and field-testing a commercially-viable, onsite, 40-kW fuel-cell power plant. This paper describes the development of a Remote-Monitoring and Display System to increase the quality and continuity of the power-plant performance and site-load data collected by the Data Acquisition System (DAS). These data are required to evaluate the fuel cell's performance and reliability.
