Some new automated processing developments

Complete processing plant automation with computer control is in the future, and coal preparation is the main area of development. New coal preparation plants coming on stream will use computer control to give cleaner throughput for the money spent. Crushing is an area that has been difficult for engineers to automate. One in-mine automated system is being developed and will be introduced to the industry in the near future. Automation of coal preparation plants is more advanced than automation of other processing. The economic benefit of such plants are discussed.
