Determination of solubility products of complexes of alkali and alkaline-earth element iodides with 18-crown-6 ethers in tetrahydrofuran

The solubility products of complexes MeI{sub n}{centered dot}18-crown-6 (n = 1, 2; Me = Na, K, Cs, Ca, Sr, Ba) in tetrahydrofuran were determined. It was shown that the solubility products of the alkali metal complexes are two orders of magnitude higher than those for alkaline earth elements. The values of the solubility products decrease with increase in the ionic radius for both alkali and alkaline earth elements.
