Pionic transitions of baryons are discussed in the framework of the MIT bag model using the partially conserved axial-vector current hypothesis and taking into account the momentum dependence of the calculated matrix elements. There are no free parameters in the calculation. Qualitative agreement with experiment is obtained. The results are compared with the previous calculation of Leroy.
