Converted tanker makes small-field production practical

Deep-water and marginal productivity made Cadlao field, offshore Philippines, a questionable choice for development. However, Amoco was able to cope with these difficulties by converting a tanker into a combined production storage, and loading facility. Once Cadlao field is depleted, the ship can continue operations at another site. This study describes equipment on the vessel, including a unique ground-type stack for burning surplus gas.
