Title: Measured data from the Avery Island, Louisiana, heating corejacking tests

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5724881

This report presents the unanalyzed data obtained from a series of heated corejacking tests conducted in the Avery Island salt mine. These tests were a part of a field testing program at Avery Island to characterize the thermomechanical response of domal salt when subjected to conditions similar to those expected in a high-level nuclear waste repository. The primary objective of the corejacking tests was to supply field data for validation of the numerical methods used to predict the creep behavior of salt. Two previous series of corejacking tests provided data for the ambient temperature test condition. This series of tests produced results for heated test conditions. The purpose of this report is to transmit the data from the heated corejacking tests to the scientific community. Rigorous analysis or interpretation of the data is considered beyond the scope of this data report. 3 refs., 24 figs., 1 tab.
