The development of a 20-inch indirect fired fluidized bed gasifier

This paper presents the development and testing of an indirect fired fluidized bed gasifier. Superheated steam is used as the fluidizing medium to produce medium BTU gas. The effects of temperature, steam-to-wood ratio, and the location of the feed point are discussed. The concepts to develop commercial scale unit and the design features are included.
