Radiation leakage through overlapping joints in charging face shield of 305 test pile

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:57214
The results given in this report are calculated on the following assumptions: (a) average values of radiation fluxes at surface of charging face reflector (10/watts) fast neutron 1-9x10{sup 4}/cm{center_dot}x{sup 2} sec, slow neutron 1-4x10{sup 4}cm{center_dot}{sup 2} sec, gamma-rays (2 Mev) 5-6x10{sup 3}/cm{center_dot}{sup 2}x sec. Average values are taken since no holes of the type considered occur in the central section due to the solid concrete pier. (b) Both the fast and slow neutrons leave the reflector surface according to the Fermi Law. The Gamma-quanta according to the simple Cosine Law.
