OSTI ID:5720188
A process is described for cracking hydrocarbon feedstock which is heavy oil in the absence of added hydrogen in the presence of a cracking catalyst under elevated temperature conditions. The feedstock contains from 40 to 800 ppM metals. The cracking catalyst is a conventional cracking catalyst of the alumina-silica type which has been contacted with at least one treating agent selected from the group consisting of elemental tellurium, oxides of tellurium, and compounds convertible to elemental tellurium or tellurium oxide during cracking or catalyst regeneration.
