Cleaning up commingled uranium mill tailings: is federal assistance necessary

Commingled uranium mill tailings are the sand-like radioactive wastes produced as a result of the processing of uranium for both Government and commercial purposes. This report primarily addresses the need for the Federal Government to assist active uranium mill owners in cleaning up commingled uranium mill tailings.
