Liquefaction of soils during earthquakes. Final report
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:5718221
The report reviews the state of knowledge of the causes and effects of liquefaction of soils during earthquakes, documents the state of the art of analysis for safety from liquefaction, and recommends future directions for liquefaction research. It is based on a workshop held in Dedham, Massachusetts, on March 28-30, 1985, at which liquefaction specialists from the United States, Japan, Canada, and the United Kingdom came together to discuss present knowledge and agree on directions for the future. The work was conducted in response to requests from the National Science Foundation and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
