Title: Alloys having improved resistance to hydrogen embrittlement

Patent ·
OSTI ID:5716529

A tubular metal product is described for use in sour gas wells characterized by resistance to hydrogen sulfide embrittlement at temperatures up to about 500/sup 0/F consisting essentially of an alloy having the composition 0.015% carbon, 19.9% to 20.0% chromium, 34.47% to 35.03% nickel, 9.5% to 10.0% molybdenum, 0.5% to 0.82% titanium, 0.015% boron, 0% to 0.34% iron, and the balance cobalt, except for impurities, the tubular product having been cold worked at least sufficiently to impart increased strength and from 50% to 63% and thereafter heat treated in the range 1350/sup 0/F to 1500/sup 0/F.
